How it all started
When I first watched a drone video, I thought: Wow! I want to make these videos by myself! I have a Dutch travel blog (Galekkeropvakantie.nl) and by making drone videos I can offer a huge extra value to the website.
After figuring out the regulations and camera specifications it didn’t take long before I bought my first drone. It was a big investment, but for me it was one of the best choices I’ ve ever made. With a drone you see things from a different perspective. You can fly to places you normally can’t go, which allows you to take unique photos and videos.
After the first flight I knew it: I want to do this for a living!

The first drone video was a recording of my vacation in the Dolomites in north Italy. I took a 2-week road trip, visiting several highlights. From historical castles to unique beaches and from picturesque villages to giant mountains. Everything passed by!
Once home, my creativity run wild and I started making an aftermovie. By combining drone footage, text and sound, I was gripped by the ‘drone virus’.
My passion for photography and videography grew and since then I knew exactly what I wanted; helping others with aerial drone shots!

Drone Equipment
As a drone videographer, equipment is key. That’s why I chose the DJI MINI 3 PRO. With this drone I can fly almost anywhere and it has a beautiful 4K video camera. In terms of photo quality, this drone can take photos in 8064×6048 (4:3 format) or 4032×2268 (16:9 format). This allows you to print photos on canvas or other surfaces. Another big advantage of this drone is the possibility to make vertical drone shots. This will give you the best quality videos for your social media channels.
Drone License
Since 31 December 2020, new rules have been implemented in Europe. Because of this, it is only possible to make commercial drone shots if you have a drone license. As a drone videographer, I have the drone license in the open category A1 / A3 and always keep safety in mind. Also, I am able to take aerial drone shots outside of Europe.
